Analytics

This website automatically uses PostHog’s EU service to measure page visits and link clicks, including referring domains and basic browser and device information. PostHog also derives an approximate location from the connection’s IP address. Collection starts without a consent prompt.

An anonymous identifier is stored in your browser’s local storage to recognize returning visits. This is not cookieless or stateless tracking. The main website and the Patterns of Conflict reader use separate identifiers and event labels in the same PostHog project.

Page and destination query strings and fragments are removed. Referrers are limited to their origin and domain, without paths or search terms. Email and telephone link clicks are counted without sending their addresses, numbers or message contents.

There is no session replay or automatic capture of page interactions. Page text, link labels, selected text and form contents are not collected by this analytics integration. Analytics blockers may prevent collection; the website does not depend on analytics. Local previews do not send analytics.

Email updates

The subscription form sends the email address you enter to Buttondown to handle email updates. It is not sent to PostHog. See Buttondown’s privacy policy.
